Shoe Allen Edmonds Worth The Cost?

But originally, did Allen Edmonds shoes have any ties to the US? For many years, there was a question about whether they were indeed made in America or not. There was never any definitive answer given, but over time things seem to have become more clear.

The story of Allen Edmonds shoes started in 1914 as a shoe factory in Racine, WI.

The name changed to Allen Edmonds & Co. in 1930, when the company expanded into Chicago. In 1960, it moved to a larger facility at 1 N. LaSalle St., which is now called the American Shoe Building and located just around the corner from Tribune Tower.

It's still independent but has also become part of the Chippewa Group over the years, a holding company which owns various shoe brands like Skechers and Cole Haan, among others.

As the company has grown and expanded, there have been times when it has outsourced some of its manufacturing to other factories, which some might have assumed were located outside the U.S.

However, this was done with a very specific purpose in mind – keeping the company focused on quality and assuring that products are made in the USA.

"Allen Edmonds is an American shoe-making company committed to making great shoes that are made in the USA," a company spokesperson told CoStar News.

"We have never outsourced our manufacturing process and we will continue to honor our American heritage by only working with manufacturers who are also doing so..

Are Allen Edmonds Good Quality?

There is a lot of debate about whether or not the quality of Allen Edmonds shoes are worth the price.

While most people would agree that they are made well, many people have said that they don’t last and break easily.

The debate will never end because there is no right answer so I propose an experiment to see if we can come to some consensus.

I will show you four pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes that cost $249 and four pairs of sneakers from Converse that cost $27. You will go through the same activities on all four pairs and grade them. For each pair of shoes you will record the following information in a sheet.

You will also keep a log of your activity for each pair of shoes so that you are not influenced by personal bias. Also I would like to use a scale of 1 to 10 to rate how comfortable or uncomfortable they were.

1- They fit perfectly

2- They were slightly uncomfortable but would be good if you don’t want any blisters

3- They were slightly uncomfortable but would be bad if you did get blisters because they do have arch support that is good for some people but not others and that makes some people feel claustrophobic.

4- They were very uncomfortable and the strap was cutting into your foot

5- They will definitely give you some blisters if you don’t wear them enough to break them in

6- Very bad blisters

How Long Will Allen Edmonds Last?

A lot of people are looking to buy Allen Edmonds, so it's important to know when your shoes will wear out and will have to be replaced.

The average person should expect their pair of Allen Edmonds to last for about 11 years, give or take a couple months. If you think about it, that's not too bad at all!

There are also some things that you can do in order to prolong the life of your new shoes and minimize any inconvenience that comes with them wearing out.
